In the event you might need financial assistance until your regular compensation begins, arrangements can be made for a loan up to a maximum of $3000. There is a 2% administration processing fee that is added to the amount of the loan. To request a loan you need to write to your department head explaining briefly why the loan is needed. The UC Foundation administers the loan agreement. Repayment is made over a one-year period through monthly payroll deductions. Contact Julianne Hartung for more information.
The University also offers a Rowe loan administered by the Benefits Office. The amount of the loan cannot exceed 15% of your annual base salary or a maximum of $5000, whichever is lower.
