The UC History doctoral program is a small, high quality program, drawing on the expertise of a renowned and research-active faculty to provide professional skills in the discipline of history. We admit between 2 and 4 students per year. The program combines the resources of a major urban research university with small classes and individual mentoring. PhD students choose one major area of concentration, either European, U.S. or World history. More details can be found on the History Department’s web page.
