The purpose of the award is to recognize an especially outstanding woman in the College of Arts and Sciences who is pursuing a graduate degree. The Scholarship winner will have demonstrated superior performance in the pursuit of the degree in areas beyond strict course work.
The Scholarship carries no associated duties aside from full-time registration and conscientious pursuit of the degree. The Isabel and Mary Neff Endowment Fund will provide a stipend of $15,000 for Fall and Spring semesters. A tuition scholarship with fees for Fall and Spring semesters will also be awarded.
The competition is restricted to women pursuing graduate degrees at UC in the disciplines encompassed by the College of Arts and Sciences. Applications should be compiled by department and must include the following:
- A statement of purpose by the applicant
- A statement of need by the applicant
- A curriculum vitae
- A letter from the department, nominating the individual. Only one applicant from each department will be considered; if necessary, a departmental committee should determine the departments nominee
- Three letters of recommendation
