Study Abroad
UC offers robust study abroad opportunities in a variety of Asian countries. These fall into three types: faculty-led study abroad programs, exchange programs, and co-ops. Visit the search page on UC International’s website for details.
Faculty-led Short Term Program:
Exploring Religion and Culture in Japan
Open to all UC students in good academic standing, this program will introduce students to Japanese religious traditions with an emphasis on Shinto and Buddhism. Through guest lectures, tours of historical sites, and cultural events, students will gain an understanding of how the religious identities are expressed in modern Japanese society. Activities during the 16-day stay in the Tokyo area include visits to Shinto shrines and Buddhist temples, an overnight stay at a Buddhist temple in Kyoto, Zen meditation, and a weekend homestay with a Japanese family.

Exchange Programs
UC has an especially rich array of exchange programs with universities in Japan, which include:

- Nagoya University (fall, spring, or the entire academic year)
- Nanzan Unviersity (summer, fall, or spring)
- USAC Japan (fall, spring, or the entire academic year)
