Field Schools and Research Opportunities

Archaeological field school opportunities include those aimed at investigation of archaeological sites and landscapes in the Ohio River Valley, Mesoamerica, and Europe. Because not all field schools are offered every year, students may also pursue field schools that are not affiliated with UC. The department has recently initiated a partnership with the Archaeological Research Institute in Lawrenceburg, Indiana to offer a Publicly Engaged Archaeological Field School that is RPA certified.

Students may also gain field and laboratory experience through internships with entities such as the Cincinnati Museum Center, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, and local Cultural Resource Management firms, or by participating in faculty research in laboratories on campus.
