Career Opportunities for Undergraduate Students

Teacher education and development is an area of increasing interest in the Department. Professor Jon Breiner has developed an introductory chemistry course (see below) aimed at students working toward teaching certification at the K-8 levels. This course will help to increase the understanding and appreciation of chemistry in the elementary and middle schools in Cincinnati.

15 CHEM 107 - Chemistry in Today's Society I

This course is an overview of chemistry and its relationship to modern society. Based on science standards this course serves as an introduction to the chemical concepts needed to understand many of the numerous scientific problems confronting society today with an emphasis on relating the standards to K-9 education.
