Student & Alumni Experiences

The Rhetoric & Professional Writing program prepared me both for my current job as a magazine and web content editor as well as for my work writing and producing educational video essays on YouTube. I was glad that the program balanced studies in literary theory with its practical, real-world application in the effective use of language, sign and design in a variety of traditional and new media. While I was training in Adobe media and publishing software, for example, I was also learning how to connect with audiences by forming deliberate, informed textual and visual messages. By the time I graduated, my class work on real-world projects left me with a solid portfolio of work to show potential employers.
