Faculty & Staff

Neuroscientists are by nature interdisciplinary and their field spans a wide variety of techniques and approaches. The approaches taken by neuroscientists at UC range from molecular biochemistry, genetics and brain imaging, to human psychology, animal behavior and computer modeling. Neuroscience faculty can be found in many departments within the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Medicine, and other colleges within the University of Cincinnati.

The University of Cincinnati is broadly organized as Colleges, which contain academic, research or clinical Departments. Divisions or working groups organized around common areas of research may be found within individual department, or spanning several department.

To help you in the sometimes daunting task of navigating through the many UC websites that include faculty working in the broad field of Neuroscience, we have listed a collection of links to groups

The Graduate Program in Neuroscience at UC

The Graduate Program in Neuroscience at UC unites neuroscience faculty across several campus departments to train graduate students and confer PhD degrees in Neuroscience. A lot of the faculty are within departments in the College of Medicine, but many can be found within other departments as well. This website has a great resource in listing neuroscience faculty by area of academic interest, which is a great way to browse through the range of neuroscience research conducted at UC.

The Genome Research Institute

The Genome Research Institute, located on Galbraith Road, is a biomedical research institute associated with the University of Cincinnati, which has a strong research program that includes neurobiology, neuroendocrinology, neurological basis of obesity, and the genetic basis of behavior. Many researchers at the GRI are affiliated with the Department of Psychiatry at the College of Medicine.
