MA in French Pedagogy Track

The Department of Romance and Arabic Languages and Literatures at the University of Cincinnati offers a pedagogy track at the M.A. level for French and Spanish speakers.
Program Strengths
- Prepares graduate students with additional understanding, knowledge, and pedagogic and language skills beyond those acquired at the B.A. level in order to be an effective teacher in the FL classroom
- Courses tailored for FL teachers in Spanish and French, including principles of language teaching and learning, using technology in the classroom, second language learning theories and research, and a range of courses in the target cultures and literatures
- Classes offered in late afternoons and evenings to accommodate practicing teachers
- A learning atmosphere with talented peer graduate students from around the world
- Teaching assistantships and tuition waivers available for qualified students.

Students in the Pedagogy track must pass an M.A. exam that covers both the Pedagogy Reading list and a reduced literature reading list (see Handbook).
