Why study Animation?

All students will begin with a solid foundation of introductory level animation skills. As they move through the certificate, they will add to this support through exercises and assignments. These build upon each other, making a stronger animator.

As the program continues, the student will learn about acting and the finer attributes to becoming a production animator.

Finally, the students will be introduced to the working world of animation including co-ops and internships all over the world.

Admission Requirements

Students already pursuing a degree in any college at UC can add the certificate to their program. Be sure to submit a declaration of the certificate program using our certificate declaration form.

In addition, you must meet with the program director so that they are aware that you are pursuing the certificate and can advise you appropriately. Do this early enough to avoid delay in obtaining your certificate.

Students not currently pursuing a degree at UC may declare the certificate after establishing non-matriculated status.

Make sure that you have declared the certificate program online. Next, make sure that the certificate director is aware of when you are finishing the program.  If you are pursuing a bachelor's degree, your certificate will be reviewed at the time you submit your separate degree application.
