Communication BA Requirements

Prerequisites:

Students should complete 1071 & 1076 before moving on to upper level classes. Other course pre-requisites are in parenthesis.

Course Requirements:

  1. A minimum of 36 credit hours in communication coursework 

  2. A minimum GPA of 2.0 in communication coursework 
  3. Completion of additional major, minor, or certificate (applies to freshman / transfers entering fall 2019 or after)

Students must complete:

  • Category A: Take 1 Core Foundation I Course with a grade of “C” or better | 03 credit hours
  • Category B: Take 3 Core Foundation II Courses with a grade of "C" or better | 09 credit hours
  • Category C: Choose 1 Research Methods Course | 03 credit hours
  • Category D: Choose 1 Capstone Course | 03 credit hours 
  • Category E: Choose 3 Advanced Electives | 09 credit hours
  • Category F: Choose 3 Additional Courses from Categories A-F | 09 credit hours
  • Students must complete 1 bolded class to fulfill the department’s Diversity & Inclusion requirement
