Departmental Advising

The Sociology Department is located on the 10th floor of Crosley Tower and you are welcome to visit us anytime. If you have declared your major as sociology, or are thinking about a major in sociology, you should make an appointment with Dr. Katherine Castiello Jones, Director of Undergraduate Studies in Sociology, by calling 513-556-4750. Her office is in 1003 Crosley Tower. When you meet with her, she will answer questions that you may have regarding the department, careers related to sociology, and required and elective sociology courses if you major in sociology. Further, she will review any college course work that you may have completed and indicate how the credits apply within the sociology concentration.

Each semester, you are urged to register during priority registration, since some classes in the major close by the end of priority registration. You may call for an appointment with Dr. Katherine Castiello Jones if there is any question about which course(s) to register for.

College advisors (513-556-5860) located on level-two of French Hall will work with you on all parts of your program that do not involve the major concentration.
