Master's Requirements

Students admitted into the Political Science MA program can complete course and research work within two years. The core requirements are:

Complete a minimum of 30 semester credits with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater.

Complete Statistics for Political Science 1 (POL 7051), Graduate Colloquium (POL 7005), and Research Methods & Design (POL 7050).

Complete two additional political science courses at the 7000 or 8000 level.

Complete either a Master's Thesis or one article-length professional paper.

A student pursing the MA must complete all requirements no later than five years from the date of matriculation into the program. (For those who matriculated into the program prior to Autumn 2007, the time limit is seven years).
