Why study Women's,Gender and Sexuality Studies?

The Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) Graduate Certificate can be a particularly valuable credential for professionals seeking expertise in issues pertaining to gender, sexuality and diversity in the labor force, and to current graduate students who wish to complement their studies with a focus on women, gender, and/or sexuality issues. As such, it is open to both non-degree and degree-seeking students. It is particularly useful for those who wish to teach in the field of WGSS, and for those who wish to have some expertise of gender issues for their future careers. Degree-seeking WGSS Graduate Certificate students are enrolled in master's, doctoral and professional programs as diverse as Architecture, Criminal Justice, Counseling, Education, English, History, Law, Musicology, Planning, Political Science, Psychology, Romance Languages and Literature, Sociology, and Speech Communication. Our non-degree students have included teachers, social service providers, attorneys, and people working in the corporate sector who seek training and/or professional development.
