Business Spanish
CERT2
Why study Business Spanish?
The Business Spanish certificate is designed to provide professionals, executives, and businesspeople with Spanish language skills for their jobs, business travel, or their professional future. Present and upcoming professionals with careers related to government and/or legal organizations, travel professions, enterprise, public relations, import and export, trade, and business management in general have the opportunity to develop business Spanish practices, vocabulary, and skills and to acquire an appreciation of Hispanic cultures needed for their work or professional future.
Admission Requirements
Students already pursuing a degree in any college at UC can add the certificate to their program. Be sure to submit a declaration of the certificate program using the Declare an Undergradatuate Certtificate online form.
In addition, you must meet with the program director so that they are aware that you are pursuing the certificate and can advise you appropriately. Do this early enough to avoid delay in obtaining your certificate.
Students not currently pursuing a degree may declare the certificate after establishing non-matriculated status.
Strategies and styles of business negotiations differ from one culture to another. Success as a student requires effective communication skills in Spanish, both oral and written, and an understanding of and appreciation for the cultures of the countries or communities with which one wishes to develop a business relationship.
