Why study Film and Media Studies?

The program in Film & Media Studies is built to train students to comprehend, analyze, and participate in local and global film and screen media cultures and industries. Sudents will explore important issues, theories, movements, and histories of media throughout the globe. The minor centers around three core groupings: Introductory, Elective and Experiential.  Minors are required to take one experiential course that might involve a study tour, a community filmmaking project, or an internship.

Admission Requirements

Make sure that you have declared the minor using our minor declaration form.  Next, make sure the program director is aware that you are pursuing the minor so they can advise you appropriately. Do this early enough to avoid delay in obtaining your minor.

If you have declared the minor, then it will appear on your application for graduation. Apply for graduation as you normally would for your bachelor’s degree.

The University of Cincinnati and all regional campuses are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.
