The Center for Public Engagement with Science (PEWS) at the University of Cincinnati works to expand and enrich the interface between science and the public to benefit all stakeholders. The Center is housed in the College of Arts & Sciences and is directed by Angela Potochnik in the Philosophy Department.

Get Involved
Students
PEWS offers workshops, courses, internships, fellowships, and affiliations for UC graduate and undergraduate students.
Take a course to learn how to effectively communicate your research, create public engagement activities, and work across disciplines.
Apply for an internship to build your skills and engage with both UC scientists and the Greater Cincinnati community.
Become an Engaging Science Fellow and be matched with a community partner to implement your own public engagement project.
Join our R&D (Research and Discussion) group to become a part of the community and take part in weekly discussions about public engagement.
Faculty and Researchers
Join a community of like-minded faculty and researchers by requesting a PEWS affiliation! Our faculty affiliates guide the Center's development and lead their own PEWS-supported public engagement projects every two years.
PEWS also partners with UC researchers on their grants, especially for broader impacts on NSF grants. We are happy to discuss how we can help support your robust broader impact plans.
